Insurance leaders are no longer debating whether AI matters. That question is over. The practical question in 2026 is much more specific: how do you bring AI into underwriting, claims, policy review, and internal operations without losing control of the data, the workflow, or the reasoning behind the output?
That distinction matters because many teams still evaluate AI like a software shopping decision. They compare models, interface quality, and prompt performance. Those are relevant, but they are not the bottleneck in a regulated environment.
